Frances -- Totally agree. Wouldn't it be nice if The Hershey Home was possible on Pennlive, instead of a separate site?

William -- It looks like Syracuse is putting all of its print stories in that blog format. Probably not a bad idea, since that might still be the only way to get the photos and links in stories. Sigh.

That is much better than the standard Advance design, it looks so...2005. Do they have photos on article pages yet?

One thing I do like about Advance though are the blog like section fronts for Penn State football on pennlive.com and the Jersey Shore on nj.com. I also like that I can get all Jersey Shore blog posts in one RSS feed.

I'd love to see a redesigned-from-scratch Pennlive site, too. And more intuitive, easy ways to interact with other readers (readers who use real names).

The Louisville Courier-Journal runs a nice blog for a medium-sized paper: http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/frontpage

But the reason I found the C-J site was through their excellent social networking site for moms, kentuckianamoms.com -- what a great example of local social networking plus events calendar plus contests plus promotion.
